WILLIAMS, Christian Michael - It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Christian Michael Williams of West Chezzetcook on August 1, 2019 at the age of 40. Known to many as Chris or Willy, he was born in Halifax, and was a son of Elizabeth Anne Marie and Robert Francis Joseph Williams. He is survived by his children, Elizabeth, Vincent and Sophia; wife, Donna Taker; parents, Elizabeth and Robert; sister, Brenda Potvin; his brother, Stephen (Tracey); brother, Colin; as well as many nieces and nephews. Chris was deeply loved by his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He followed in his father's footsteps by joining the Royal Canadian Navy, where he received a medal for the earthquake relief in Haiti, the general campaign star, and the UN medal for his time in Libya. Chris was an excellent guitar player, who loved to play Stan Rogers music. Chris always loved his time at the family camp out in Mooseland and would spend much of his time there with his wife and children. Despite all these achievements, Chris was proudest about being a father to his three children. He was a loving and wonderful father, and his memory lives on through them. Chris will be remembered by those who knew him for his storytelling, the twinkle in his eye, and his most infectious laugh. His family is comforted in knowing that Chris has helped others through the donation of organs and that a piece of him lives on to the benefit of others. Our deepest thanks to the medical staff at the NICU at the Halifax Infirmary at 5.2 for their compassion and care of Chris before his passing. A funeral will be held on Friday, August 9th at 11 a.m. in Saint John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 35 Colby Dr., Dartmouth. Reception to follow.
