COOK, Agnes (née GEMMELL) - passed away peacefully on September 20, 2014 in her 89th year. Born June 21, 1925 in Dalmuir, Scotland her childhood and young adult years were spent in Winnipeg and Grand Marais, Manitoba. In 1955, she moved to Victoria to proudly serve in the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service (WRCNS). Agnes loved Victoria and the beauty of the west coast and spent many vacations exploring Vancouver Island. She was a quiet, gentle, sweet lady devoted to her family. She will be greatly missed by her husband Fred, daughter Robin (Dale) Sebastian and sons Bruce (Jo Ann) and Ian (Debbie). A proud Nana, she leaves behind her beloved granddaughters Megan, Kristy, Natalia, Jessica and Keely. Agnes spent much of her time supporting and encouraging her children and their families in all of their endeavors. She will remain forever in our hearts. In memory of Agnes, please smile or chat with a stranger; carry out a random act of kindness, as she believed simple actions make our world a better place. No service by request.
