Milton A. Aucoin

 

Died: 18 Mar 2000, Cheticamp, New Brunswick, age 82

 

AUCOIN, Milton A. - 82, of Pere Fiset Guest Home, Cheticamp, passed away March 18, 2000, at the guest home. Born in Cheticamp, he was the son of the late Murdock AuCoin and Elizabeth (AuCoin) AuCoin. He was a member of St. Peter's Church, Cheticamp. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving in the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve. He served on several ships during the battle of the Atlantic. He was on board the HMCS Assinibone during the EPIC battle of the sinking of the German Submarine U-210. He was a member of the Cape Breton Naval Veterans Association and a member of the Atlantic CPOS Association. He was a past founding member of Cheticamp development Association and an active member of Cheticamp AA. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No.. 32, Cheticamp. Surviving are his wife, Annie Louise Chiasso; son, Eddie, Nanaimo, B.C.; daughter, Mary (Mrs. Maurice Doucet), Cheticamp; sister, Florence (Mrs. Leo P. Chiasson), Antigonish; five grandchildren, Blair, Lisa, Blaine, Nadine and Ken and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by four brothers, Clifford, Willie, Angie and Joseph Edmond. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be offered today (Tuesday) at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, Cheticamp. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to Pere Fiset Guest Home, Cheticamp. Arrangements are under the direction of Cheticamp Funeral Services Ltd.
