Robert James (Bob) McColl

 

Died: 28 Feb 2009, Kingston, Ontario, age 85

 

McCOLL, Robert James (Bob) - Proud Veteran of WWII, R.C.N. Retired, Canadian Pacific Railways, 45 years of service. With courage and dignity, at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital in Kingston on Thursday, February 28, 2008, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of 56 years to Gwen (Steele) McColl. Loving father of Mary Ann McColl and her husband W. Kirby Rowe of Maple Hill, Ontario and Alexander 'Sandy' McColl and his wife Laurie (Hayashi) of Australia. Proud grandfather to Hayden and Emily and remembered with much love by his extended family as well as many friends. In keeping with Bob's wishes, cremation will be immediate. A celebration of Bob's life will be held in the chapel of the James Reid Funeral Home, Cataraqui Chapel, Kingston, on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 10:30 a.m., the Reverend Earl Taft officiating, with a reception to follow. Interment Cataraqui Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (Palliative Care at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital) or to The Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
