SMITH, Earle Francis Passed away in his 81st year, on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener after a brief illness. Earle is predeceased by his wife Irene (2007). Survived by sons; Scott (Diana) and Sheldon (Susan) and by his grandchildren; Tyler (Marina), Cameron and Rebecca, as well by his sister Anne Scott of Douglas, Isle of Man and many nieces and nephews in the UK. He is also missed by his best friend Pete Eaton of Moncton, NB and his dog Mimi. Earle proudly served in the RCN from 1955 - 1960 and was a Correctional Officer for 30 years at the Guelph Correctional Centre. He was a proud supporter of the Leafs, Blue Jays and Liverpool F.C. Cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life for Earle at the Royal Canadian Legion, Col John McCrae Branch 234, located at 57 Watson Pkwy. S. on Sunday February 3rd from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. (Guelph Mercury 22 Jan 2019)
