PROVOST, Dennis (Denny) - 78 of Halifax Nova Scotia passed away peacefully June 13th at Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home where he was residing. Denny was born January 28, 1941 in Kirkland Lake Ontario to Albert “Bert” and Mary Provost, the family eventually moved to Atikokan Ontario where Denny grew up. Denny left Atikokan at 17 and moved to Nova Scotia to join the navy, it was in Halifax where he met and married Sandra Burns. After many years in the navy, Denny retired and moved to The Annapolis Valley where he enjoyed fishing and working on cars and trucks. Denny had a passion for animals and enjoyed having cats. During his last few years Denny moved to Halifax where he was able to be close to his sons and their families. Denny is survived by his three sisters Faye, Gloria and Donna as well as his two sons Kevin, Darrin and Darrin’s wife Tracey, his three grandchildren Alysia, Jennifer, Matthew and one great grandchild Jayda Noelle all of which he was very proud. Denny is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Bert and Mary. Special thanks to the kind staff at Saint Vincent’s for taking such great care of Denny. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA.
