Ronald R. Annett

Born: 1924          Died: 2019

ANNETT, Ronald R. - We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our beloved Ronald at the age of 95 following complications from hip surgery after an unfortunate fall. Ron was a true gentleman and a gentle man, always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbours for many years. He was the best Dad and grandfather anyone could wish for. An avid fisherman and canoeist he was always at his best with family and friends. He was a WWII Navy veteran, a long time Nortel employee who had a very successful career and was fortunate enough to have been retired for a year longer than he worked - 40 years. Ron was a long-standing member of St. George's #440 and a member of the Scottish Rite. Ron was married to Evelyn his wife of 63 years who predeceased him 6 years ago. Ron is survived by his son David and his wife Michelle both of whom were extremely proud of Ron. In addition, Ron leaves to mourn his grandchildren Emma-Leigh (Felix), Rose-Marie (Olivier) and Dominique and his step-granddaughter Jessica (Ryan). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: James, Sofia, Jackson, Luke, Aubrie, Brielle and Abigail as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ron was predeceased by his parents Russell and Alice Annett and by his sister Jean Kulikowsky. A kind and gentle person who was loved by all who knew him is no longer with us and he will be greatly missed. His jokes and riddles will keep us smiling indefinitely as we fondly remember him. Sincere thanks to the compassionate care of the staff at the Sunrise of Beaconsfield for the past 3 years and more recently to the staff of Lakeshore General 3 West. In lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Visitation will be held at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd., DDO, 514-685-3344, on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the Rideau Chapel. Interment will follow at Rideau Memorial Gardens. (Montreal Gazette 12 Jun 2019)
