David Carl Bowles

Died: 15 May 2019, Middle Sackville, Nova Scotia

 

BOWLES, David Carl - 75, Middle Sackville, passed away suddenly at home May 15, 2019. Born in Woodstock, NB, he was a son of the late Gregory and Elizabeth (Dineen) Bowles.Dave joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1961 and served in the Navy for 21 years as a Marine Engineer ART. He retired as a Petty Officer 1st Class. There after he had careers in Offshore Oil Drilling, DND and heavy equipment operator. In his retirement years he wintered in Florida and spent time at his RV in St. Andrews, NB. Dave loved playing golf and was a fan of baseball, hockey and many other sports. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a jovial man who always had a joke to tell. He is survived by his companion Nancy Taylor; daughters, Donna (Chris) Ball; Tracy (Todd) Dominix; granddaughters, Jocelyn Spears, Julia Gay, Jenna Dominix, Sara Dominix; great-grandson, Dawson David Atkinson; sister, Norma (Robert) Barnes; niece, Maureen VanRavens; nephew Darryl Bowles. He was predeceased by son Glen David and Daughter Dawn Marie in infancy; brother, Donald Bowles. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Wednesday May 22nd , Royal Canadian Legion, 45 Sackville Cross Road. Reception to follow. Private family interment in Oakridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation of Nova Scotia, or Canadian Cancer Society.
