STRATTON, William Frederick - age 79 of Cole Harbour, passed away on May 31, 2019 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Toronto, Ont., he was a son of the late Isabell (Walker) and Stuart Norman Stratton. William served in the RCN for 13 years, after that he was employed for many years with the Department of Supplies and Services and retired in 1988. He was a faithful member of the Cole Harbour Kiwanis club which he dearly enjoyed. William is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Stratton; sons, Jamie (Dale), Stuart (Catherine), and Willie; daughters, Sandra (Thomas) Reddy, Anna Clarkson, and Natasha (Caleb) Haynes; sister, Mary Lee of Walkerton, Ont.; brothers, Stuart (Gale) Stratton of Oshawa, Ont.; John (Rose) Brown, Courtice, Ont.; and John (Gale) Radley, Barrie, Ont.; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by grandson, Mitchell Kelly. Cremation has taken place under the care of Atlantic Funeral Homes and a Celebration of Life will be held at a date yet to be determined. The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses of the Dartmouth General Hospital; his "dialysis girls"; Donna Purdy of the VON and Clarice Jeffery for her Homecare.
