When the war ended, Aubrey married the love of his life, Edna Gilmour (daughter of Robert Gilmour and Ella Smith) and moved to Ottawa. They raised their six children in Aylmer, Quebec. Aubrey worked over 30 years in the civil service, retiring from the International Joint Commission in 1982. He spent his final years in the veterans' wing of the Perley-Rideau Veterans Health Centre and the family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Ottawa 2 East for the wonderful care and love they lavished on their father. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Perley Rideau Foundation or the Parkinson's Society of Canada. In memory of our father, please never forget the debt we owe to all veterans.
