Naval Rating Dies In Mishap

A 24-year-old naval rating was killed early last evening when the car he was driving collided with a bus at Five Islands, on the Bay Road.

Able Seaman Kenneth Charles Richardson of Indian Harbour, a crewman aboard HMCS Chaudiere, died almost instantly following the mishap, which occurred about 5 p.m.

He is survived by his wife and two young children, as well as his parents, all of Indian Harbour. (The Halifax Chronicle Herald 25 Jan 1966)

Funeral Thursday For Accident Victim

INDIAN HARBOR - A funeral will be held Thursday for Able Seaman Kenneth Charles Richardson, RCN, of Indian Harbor, age 24. He died after a highway accident Monday.

Born in Halifax, he lived his life in Indian Harbor and was a member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church. He played on the Hackett Cove hockey team.

He is survived by his wife, the former Janet Martin; daughter Sandy 3, son Teddy 1; his parents Mrs. and Mr. Wardlow Richardson, Indian Harbor; brothers, Wayne of Upland Park; Gary at home; sisters, Morman, (Mrs. Amos Morash), Hacketts Cove; Cindy at home; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Levy, Isaac's Harbor. The funeral service will be at St. Andrew's Church, at 2:30 p.m. Interment is at St. Peter's cemetery, Hackett's Cove. (The Halifax Chronicle Herald 26 Jan 1966)
