Wyman Stewart Mingo

MINGO, Wyman Stewart - 82 of Truro, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 at home. Born in East Earltown, he was the son of the late Rexford B. and Georgina M. (Baillie) Mingo. Wyman served in the Royal Canadian Navy for ten years, for several years on the Truro Police Force and retired as a car salesman. Wyman was a Past President and Life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26 in Truro and served on the Executive and well as many committees. He had a passion for boxing and was a coach at the Truro Amateur Boxing Club for many years. He also liked to fish and hunt. Surviving are, his wife, the former Joyce Langille; daughters, Donna Mingo, Halifax.; Carla (Kevin) McNutt, Truro; grandchildren, Michelle Pearce, Truro; Jennifer (John Wladyko) McNutt, Edmonton; Michael (Stephanie) McNutt, Truro; great grandsons, Alexander “Zander” Pearce and Liam Wladyko; sister, Janice (Warren) Jollimore, East Earltown; brother-in-law, Al (Alta) Symes, The Falls; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Odessa Matheson and her husband Sterling; Irene Symes. Cremation has taken place. A veteran’s tribute service will be held 1 p.m. Friday in Coulter’s Funeral Home (902-657-3288) 48 Riverside Dr., Tatamagouche, with visitation to follow until 3 p.m., followed by a graveside service in The Falls Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26 would be appreciated.
