CLEMENTS, William Patrick Lawrence Earnest (Pat) - It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Pat Clements, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Pat was born in Notre Dame de Grace, Montreal, son of the late Edna (McKiernon) and Hubert Clements. At 18, Pat joined the Royal Canadian Navy and travelled the world. While stationed in Halifax he met the love of his life, Millie (Trainor). They were married on September 12, 1970 and proudly raised four children. For nearly 37 years, Pat worked for Michelin Tires as a millwright and became a nationally recognized industrial mechanic. While there, Pat developed his love of grey wool socks and shirts with pockets. Even after 10 years of retirement, we can still get a whiff of rubber sometimes. Pat was a fan of technology and was an early-adopter of all-things computer related. From the first home computers to the transitions in technology in the workplace, Pat was eager to learn. He became an amateur photographer later in life and was known for his work with eagles. Pat was also a Legion member for over 50 years. He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Millie; children, Kelly, Scott (Sandra), Stephani and Robyn; grandsons, Kale, Brandon and Lucas and his great grandson, Keigan. He will be missed by numerous cousins, especially Audrey, and many, many friends and colleagues. Pat was a fun-loving man who brought a smile to everyone he met. He wouldn’t want anyone to have to dress up and be somber, so in the true Irish fashion we invite everyone to celebrate his life this Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Berwick Lion’s Club. Those unable to attend should play a game of crib and listen to their favorite song, loudly. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Diabetes Canada, Victorian Order of Nurses or a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. (Halifax Today 27 Apr 2019)
