Born: 05 Jan 1909, London, England

 

Died: 12 Jun 2003, Victoria, British Columbia

 

CURTIS, Edward George (Ted), CPO Shpt, 40811, RCN - Born January 5, 1909 in London, England. Passed away peacefully June 12, 2003 at Mount St. Mary Hospital. Predeceased by his loving wife Hilda in 2001. They shared a full life together of 64 years. Ted joined the navy in the early 1940's, served on the Warrior and Ontario. In 1944, he received the British Empire Medal for Outstanding Courage. He remained in the navy until retiring in 1958 and was also a long time member of the Chief's and PO's association. Ted will be sadly missed by his devoted daughter Marilyn, granddaughter Vicki (Jim), great granddaughter Angela (Tyler) and great great granddaughters Meleah and Olivia as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. A gathering of family and friends to say goodbye and celebrate Ted's life will be held at Mount St. Mary Hospital Chapel, 861 Fairfield Road/ Quadra at 3:00pm on Wednesday June 18, 2003. A tea will follow in the village square (adjacent to chapel). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount St. Mary in Ted's memory, or to a charity of your choice.
