Died: 27 Mar 2019, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

 

McDOUGALL, William, James (Bill) - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of William “Bill” James McDougall which occurred on Wednesday, March 27th, 2019 at Dartmouth General Hospital. Born 1957, in Saint John, he was the son of the late Francis Raymond and Lillian Margaret (Reid) McDougall. Bill served as Leading Seaman in the Navy and worked in Supply Management for several years before retiring in 2018. He was stationed in Germany for 4 years and was part of the Peacekeeping Force in Golan Heights. Bill had a passion for travelling and visited many places around the world. He enjoyed playing cards, reading and was the life of the party. Bill had a great sense of humour and he loved animals, especially dogs. His family was most important to him, he had a heart of gold and will be missed by all who knew him. Bill is survived by his sisters Lynn Gould (David) of Saint John and Nancy Jackson of Saint John; nieces and nephews Cody Reid, Chelsea Gould, Brad Gould and Tara Reid; best friend Tom Forbes (Helen) of Saint John; as well as many friends. Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Wednesday, April 3rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Tribute to a Veteran Service will begin at 7 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, April 4th at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, SPCA-Animal Rescue or to the charity of donor’s choice.
