THORNE , T. Lloyd - age 53 years ,of Eastern Passage passed away peacefully December 28 , 2012 at Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Whitbourne , Newfoundland he is a son of Louise ( Newhook ) Thorne - Norman's Cove , NL. and the late Raymond Thorne. Lloyd was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy and was honorable discharged after 30 years of service. Following his naval career he worked at H.M.C. Dockyard ( Cape Scott ) . He loved to play golf and enjoyed working in his yard. He is survived by his loving wife the former Gertrude Lundrigan , son Jerry as well as several brothers and sisters. He is predeceased by a daughter Pauline. The family would like to offer sincere thanks for all the prayers and support from our family and friends . Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 Wednesday January 2 , 2013 in Eastern Passage Community Funeral Home , 5 Cow Bay Road , Eastern Passage . Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday January 3 , 2013 in Christ Church , Cow Bay . Rev. Steve Laskey officiating . A service will also be held in Norman's Cove , Newfoundland at a later date .In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
