In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
INGRAM, Carol Anne Joan (née NOWELL) - age 86, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Born December 26, 1938, in Sudbury, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anne Elizabeth (Ward) Nowell.
Joan was a Registered Nurse who graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. In her mid-twenty’s, Joan served for several years in the Royal Canadian Navy as a “Nursing Sister”. Joan worked in health care in Manitoba and Ontario before moving with her family to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in 1981. There, she worked in long term care homes including the Foyer Pere Fiset, Cheticamp and the Inverary Manor, Inverness.
Joan is survived by her sons, David and Andrew Ingram and grandchildren, Rebecca, Alden and Alex (Clara) Ingram.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frederic Ingram.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. There will be no visitation or service.
