Gordon Edward Weston - Cook
Gordon Edward Weston was born on May 4, 1923. He was born of English parents who came to Canada during World War I. Gordon joined the navy in December 1942 and trained as a cook. He was sent overseas and there met Caroline Parr. They were married on July 11, 1945. Gordon was demobilized in England and returned to Canada in 1947. They resided in London, Ontario. They have three children, John, Patricia and Timothy, and six grandchildren. Gordon worked in the meat packing industry, and worked at Coleman's Meat Packers for 28 years. He was a foreman and Beef Grader. Gordon ran a small shop of his own for a short time. His hobbies included developing photos, but his first love was fishing. Gordon had double by-pass surgery fourteen years ago. He joined the navy Vet's club, London in which he became the galley cook. In April, Gord took ill and died on the 27th April 1992. Gord and Caroline were married for 47 years.
