L. Bogle - Able Seaman
Andrew Lamont Bogle born in Kilbirnie, Aryshire, Scotland on November
3,1924. He came to Canada with his parents in 1927 to Roblin, Manitoba.
He attended Sonny Slope School and lived on a farm in the Deepdale district,
Manitoba. Andy joined the navy in February, 1943, and trained at HMCS
Chippawa, and then HMCS Naden. From there he went to HMCS Procter II,
at Sydney, N.S., HMCS Stadaconna, Halifax and HMCS Avalon, joining the
Nene at that point. After being discharged Andy returned to Brandon, Manitoba.
Doreen Yeo, (a registered nurse, from Roblin, Manitoba, who worked at
the Brandon General Hospital) and Andy were married in August 1946 and
they raised seven children; have nineteen grandchildren and three great
grandchildren. Andy was a milkman for 9 years and worked in the oilfields
for a year. He then worked with the Canadian Pacific Police for 28 1/2
years retiring in June, 1985. Doreen and Andy reside in Calgary, where
most of the children now live. Andy is a faithful blood donor having donated
over 100 donations of blood. He likes curling and golf and is also a mean
cribbage player.

Andrew Lamont Bogle is now widowed, His wife, Doreen Yeo, died in 2005.
He now has 23 grand children, including myself, and 22 great grand children.
One of his sons, Tim Bogle, is also a member of the N.W.M.P., in which
they quite regularly use his twenty-five horses.
(Perhaps N.W.M.P. means the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.)
Sam Forsythe (shipmate) adds: Andy is a Past Potentate of the Shriners
as well as an active member of the Craft Masons. Sam is himself heavily
involved in the Masonic Order.
